Educational-cultivation
area.

The vegetable
garden offers endless possibilities through play and exercise
to get closer to Mother Earth, the provider of our food.
You can plant seeds, dig, harvest etc. which gives you the
opportunity to connect, understand and recover the relationship
between your food and nature.
This activity is very educational and therapeutic.
“Feel the sensation,
recommended for everybody – very good anti-stress!”
Available during spring, summer and autumn.

In Winter
there’s nothing better or more fun than wrapping up
warm and going out to enjoy the snow.

Life
in the village.

We are in a small village where the locals keep
chickens, and have sheep, horse and cattle farms, with their
respective cats and dogs, and also grow hay and straw plus
the famous Losa potatoes.
There are no shops in village which is surprisingly pleasant
and poses no problems.
(There is a small supermarket and a fruit and vegetable
market on Saturdays, 5 minutes away in Quincoces).
The village does however have: an Internet centre, church,
the traditional bowling alley, football and basketball court
and swings.
The surrounding areas are mountainous, and silence reigns.
We have good sunsets and dawns due to the ample horizons.

Exploring
the surrounding areas.
To feel nature’s balance and beauty, the best is to
go for a walk ….. we recommend three routes which you
can do on foot or by bicycle - you choose!
| Ruta
1
Right outside the Canto del Mirlo, and before you reach
the sports centre, you come across a path through a
lovely forest leading to the fields. You will then reach
the “Camino Real” (Royal Path) which is
perfect for visiting the surrounding towns. This path
is flat and the only vehicle you’ll meet is the
odd tractor.

2

To visit our hermitage, head towards the mountain range
along the track which takes you through grazing horses,
sheep and cattle. Villabasil’s traditional fiesta
is held at the hermitage on the 2nd Saturday of July.

Ruta
3

If you want the best panoramic views, and you like
climbing mountains, continue along the path past the
hermitage and you’ll reach a firebreak which
will take you up to the top of the mountain –
the highest point is Peña Alba at
1256 m, where you have spectacular views on both sides,
to the south the wide Losa valley and to the south
Mena valley.
This
range is called "Saved Mountain” and continues
to the east to "Monk´Peak" and “Sant
James´s Mountain” (Natural Monument).*
Recommended visits.
